My buddy inherited a Marlin, round barrel stamped 30-30, marked "Marlin Safety" on the top of the receiver, "Marlin Model 98" on the tang, SN A20## under the lever. I've been able to find nothing though the Marlin website said based on the SN it was manufactured before 1883. But ...
