Re: Marlin Model 1936

The 1936 was indeed only made for one year. Then they made some internal changes and brought it out as the Model 36. I believe the difference is a coil spring for the hammer instead of a flat one. Re: 1894 Cowboy .45 Colt Breech Blowback

With Cowboy loads, some blowback is normal. Using the 250's help some and some have gone to .454's. Brass type plays in this as well. Starline and Remington tends to have more blowback than Winchester. They must be stiffer than the Winchester. Make sure if you're reloading that you put a stout crimp...

Re: 94 cl

Be cautious on that Ruger. The early ones had size differences between the cylinder diameter and the barrel/ forcing cone diameters. Acurracy was not real great on them............Buck 8)

Re: fire lapping

I firelapped an 1893 that I picked up. The bore wasn't shiney and had a rough spot just ahead of the chamber. i started with valve lapping compound on a patch and jag, then cleaned. Next , I got whitening tooth paste( yes, you heard right), and worked it into the lube/lube grooves of some bullets, t...
