AFAIK, the waffle top was discontinued in the early-mid 1950's ( ca.1954 ? ) , when D/T the receiver tops for scope mounts became standard.

AFAIK, every part I listed is individually forged from a single chunk, then machined to final shape excepting the hammers, from which IIRC several are sliced from a bar machined from a forging.

I dunno how many were made, but given that they were only made for 2 years - I would WAG that there was most likely not more than a single, or possibly two, production runs of them during that period - so, less than 5,000 ? I know they bring over $800 today, in excellent condition - and probably mor...
