Rear Sight Elevator for '53 39A
Can anyone help me in locating an elevator for the rear sight of a 1953 Model 39A?. One of you was good enough to find the rear leaf sight for me and now I need the elevator that goes with it. Thanks.

Cleaning and Re-Oiling an Oil-Finished Stock
I have two early 1950 Marlins with oil finished stocks. Both are in perfect shape, but darkened with age to the point that the real beauty of the wood can't be fully seen. I would like to clean them up and possibly add some additional oil to them. I have heard that the clean up is accomplished with ...

1893 Details and DOB
This gun is the same gun as on the bottom of page 199 except the barrel is all octagonal and it has factory sling swivel posts. It also has the 6th type S-shaped, stamped-metal double-recurve butt plate as shown on p.663 and described on p. 666. It is a model 93 and I can't tell you about the bullse...

1893 Lightweight Rifle in 32 HPS - 2 Questions
A friend has an 1893 "Lightweight Rifle" in 32HPS with a SN of A8XX. Brophy's book doesn't help me identify the DOB. Can someone help? Any idea how many were made?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Refinishing CCH M1893 Receiver
Can the color-case hardened receiver of a M1893 be successfully refinished? I know it would be a cardinal sin, but could it be successfully blued to match the rest of the gun? Finally, if some misguided soul did blue a CCH receiver, could the CCH be restored? Thanks, I'm trying to understand my opti...

"Correct" 1893 Barrel Markings?
I am looking at two 1893s. One is a 1906 DOB Carbine with "Special Smokeless Steel" on the barrel, and the other is a 1893 rifle with 24" barrel that does not have the "Special Smokeless Steel" marking. I don't have the info on the DOB of the rifle. Should I be suspicious of...

Proper storage for collectible
I have recently acquired a '50 336A in "mint" condition. Can anyone offer some general tips on storage of this fine old specimen? I think I know how to protect the "innards', but what about the blued exterior surfaces. Is there a way to slow down the transition to plumb? Thanks.

Value of "mint" 1892
The 33rd edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values states that a Model 1892 in 95% condition is worth about $1500. Can anyone estimate for me how much a restored "mint" Model 1892 would be worth? Thank you.
