The "K" serial prefix indicates that this Model 336 was manufactured in 1953. Otherwise, not much else we can tell you without a more detailed description, such as barrel length and magazine length.

If this is a serial number from the old factory records, it is a Model 1889 in .38-40 caliber with a 24 inch octagon barrel shipped in 1890.

I read most of the posts on the other site, and if you decide to go the auction route, be careful. Some of these auction houses are not so reputable, if you know what I mean. They will tell you one thing, and when push comes to shove, you get less than expected or should get in the end.
