Re: marlin model 97 serial number 403057
Tim, The original poster - clonze - came to the right place to ask a s/n question of a Marlin. The Secretary / Treasure of the Marlin Firearms Collectors Assn. - Regnier - has the only copy of the original Marlin Firearms Co. s/n records, outside of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY, i...

Re: marlin model 97 serial number 403057
Serial number required. LOL I think you missed the SN in the title 403057. I am not up to par on the SN's and did a little research before commenting on this post, from what I've found the SN is after the cutoff of 1906, but I'm not even sure about that. I would suggest asking this question over on...

Re: New owner of a old 97 Deluxe with questions
Congratulations on your purchase. I will be surprised if you don't feel the need to purchase a few more. As for as cleaning the barrel, you can really over do it. Re: Model 39 Question (date)
You should also be informed not to fire high speed ammo, only standard velocity is safe because the bolt will crack.

Re: Model 39 Question (date)
Not enough info. What is the SN, any letter prefix ( S or HS )? More detailed pictures would be nice.

Re: 1970 100th Anniversary Commemorative Set
I was looking at Cablea's Gun Library a few minutes ago and saw a 100th Anniversary Commemorative Set that is in new condition. They have a price of $3000 on their's, so probably $2000 would be in the ballpark reallisticly.

Re: anniversary marlin
Chuck I think the dealer might think you are a few cards short of a full deck, if he thinks you will give $2K for a set of rifles that have damage and he can't tell you exactly what set they are. You need pics showing the damage. You need to know the grade of wood. How many sets were made and what y...
