what are the differences between this rifle and the Marlin 1894C? can't seem to locate that info online. any help would be appreciated.

You are right. The stock variations are the difference - the metal is the same and made to the same specs. If you luck out and find a CP, I have a good load for 125 grain bullets that exceeds 2100 fps and is quite accurate. SW thanks for the confirmation, steve! and the heads up re ammo for the CP....
