Re: The proud owner of 3 Marlin 1887 Revolvers
BP might be a buyer's penalty but folks sure were paying plenty for what I saw going! :D Luckily I was able to sit down beforehand and figure the max I wanted to put into my bids and then deducted the BP and that was my bid...if it went for a penny more then I just didn't chase it. I came within an ...

Re: The proud owner of 3 Marlin 1887 Revolvers
I never new Marlin made a hand gun and I found them reasonable.....with the BP I have less than $750 in the engraved one and $375 to $425 in the others. I came within $200 of buying a nice little 1894 factory engraved short rifle....I bid up to $2800 and the winning bid was $3000. I probably should ...

Re: Trying to reconnect with a factory engraved gold plated
Thanks for the idea. I looked at the Marlin rifles that Julia had at the Tulsa gun show on display in April but "old goldie" as I called it wasn't among the ones listed or displayed.
I'll keep an eye open for her though.

Found a picture of the auction catalog cover. The gold plated Marlin at the bottom of the group is it.

Question about Marlin engraved shotgun on GB
Good morning, I was looking through GB and came across this engraved Marlin shotgun. I was thinking since the buttstock was checkered and looked like deluxe wood so the forearm should be. Considering on trying to buy it but this bothered me. What say ye? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp...

Re: Trying to reconnect with a factory engraved gold plated
I dug around and found some notes that I had made. The Julia auction was in 1995 and it was lot 1047 and I believe the hammer price was $7500. The serial number is 150066 ArtFact had the following information. Marlin M1894 32-20 caliber octagonal 26" barrel with full magazine, the right side of...

Trying to reconnect with a factory engraved gold plated 1894
Hi all, I owned this rifle from Oct 1992 to 1993 and have wondered where it landed or if anyone has seen it for sale lately? I sold it to a collector in Florida and later saw a Julia auction catalog where it sold in 1997 I believe. I've looked around and can't find the Julia information so I'm going...
