Re: Model 99
Pull out the magazine tube and make sure it has the plumber on the end of the spring. If it is there take some cleaner like clp of Hoppes and squirt some down the magazine tube and depress the spring a few times to clean out the accumulated gunk. Also check that the cartridge lifter is moving freely...

Re: Info on 60W
I have the same rifle but mine is from '86. Subtract the first 2 digits of your serial number from 100 to get the date of manufacture. I "believe" the W indicates is was sold through WalMart. I have done a couple of modifications to mine and it's a very reliable and accurate rifle.

Re: Need Help: How to attach rear sight to Model 80 (1939)
It sounds like you have a slot blank in the dovetail on the reciever. You should be able to remove this by drifting it out with a brass drift pin from left to right as viewed from the shooting position. The new sight should slide into the dovetail from right to left. Post pics if you can.

Re: Model 60 info
Just clean it, shoot it, and enjoy it. The Model 60 is a pretty simple action that can be cleaned by most anyone without worry. There is not much to go wrong. If you are haveing problems with failure of the case to eject it is more than likey the ejector wire needs to be tweaked into position but th...

Re: Model A-1E peep sight
RounderRick I should have said that this is the same rifle as my original post. I was told that the stock was not original but I now believe that it is based on some illustrations I have come across. I doubt I will find the correct sight anytime soon and I cannot bring myself to carve this one up ju...

Re: Model A-1E peep sight
Thanks to both of you. I am suprised that Marlin does no know this and Lyman did not have any information as well. At least I have options at this point so the hunt begins.
Again thanks to both of you for the quick reply.

Model A-1E peep sight
Does anyone know what model reciever peep sight came on an A-1E? I have contacted Marlin and they claim to have no records for this. I have seen pictures in Marlin ads from the '30's and it looks very much like a 12R that does not have the long horizontal mounting base. The unit made by Williams for...

Re: Seeking information on a Model A-1
Not expecting the world from it just looking for information. There does not seem to be much out there for this model. I was told it was in production for maybe 5 years total so that may explain it. More curious than anything else, I like to try and track down as much info as possible just for the k...

Re: Seeking information on a Model A-1
Thanks for the reply but I am just curious if the gun is considered a good model. It is in good condition overall and I will get it for cheap because it is a friend of mine. I say it is an A-1 based on answers on different forums and comparing it to the parts diagram on the Numrich's site. The barre...

Seeking information on a Model A-1
I have the opportunity to purchase what I belive is a Model A-1, mounted on an 88 stock, and I am looking for information on the A-1.I cannot find any manuals for this model. Is this rifle good, bad, or indifferent? It has a dovetail sight and a ramped front sight with hood, and the peep sight is mi...
