Re: What makes a .45-90, not a .70?
I have had both my 33 & 45-70(it is not a lightweight) torn down at different times & the difference between the 2 carriers is noticeable. I think what Brent is referring to loaded length of the shell. When I reload for Marlins I always check the overall length of the shell other wise it wil...

Re: What makes a .45-90, not a .70?
You can shoot a 45-70 shell in a 45-90 chamber all day with no harm done but not vice versa. you cannot shoot a 45 90 in a 45-70 chamber.

Re: What makes a .45-90, not a .70?
Rick one difference I have noticed in the 1895s I own is that your lifter will vary from one caliber to another. If you compare a lifter from a 33 win to a 45-70 or a 45-90 you will notice the difference right away. the lifter from a 45-70 is flat across while the one from a 33 win has a noticeable ...

Re: Refinished marlin 1894?
I was on armslist.com this am & apparently he had it relisted already. I flagged it as a scam but he will probably repost it. He should be kicked off the website completely & not be allowed to post on it anymore. The website needs more enforcement.

Re: Refinished marlin 1894?
About the best thing you can do is to report this matter to the people who manage the website. Report it as a scam & the listing will be removed. But the sad thing is he will assume another identity & repost it. Armslist.com is known for having numerous scams on their website. The webmasters...

Re: Refinished marlin 1894?
If you go to gunbroker.com & type in the auction number 574696252 & look at the pics you will what I mean. That gun sold for $4136.00 on 8-15-16. Those are the exact same pics as seen in your first post.

Re: Refinished marlin 1894?
Are you sure the seller is not running a scam? Unless I am mistaken the same gun was on gunbroker.com. I had it on my watch list. I do not remember what it sold for but it was a goodly sum. The this weekend I seen the same gun same pictures on armslist.com advertised for the same price you were sayi...

Re: 1893 Marlin Takedown adaptor ring.
Go to e-gunparts.com. They have schematics for Marlin 1893. I do not know without looking if they have a schematic for the TD adaptorn but you will find a schematic of the 1893 there. What part exactly are you looking for?

Hi 300 Savage
I do have some spare Marlin parts for model 1893. I am not sure however if they will interchange with the 410 model. Let me know what parts you are looking for & I will get back to you. Jorgy

Re: Model 1893 Deluxe tang sight
I have only seen two or three tang sights for the old 1895 Marlins in 25 years of collecting. They are extremely scarce. They require a taller stem because the 1895 receiver is larger. I only own and that is mounted on a 40- 70.

Re: Model 1893 Deluxe tang sight
I have several rifles with the :"J" & "JA" tang sights. In comparing the "JA" for 32 special & 30-30 is shorter then the "J". I think it is because the 30-30 & 32 special are flatter shooting the the 32-40 & 38-55 for which the "J" wa...

Re: Model 1893 Deluxe tang sight
I always thought the length of the stem is different from a JA as compared to a J. I believe the reason for this is beause of the different
velocities encountered in the calibers in the 1893.
