Patent infringments?

Post by dickaye »

In the period after I suppose the mid 1850s, there were a lot of gun manufactures producing a lot of very similar looking single shot derringers like Marlin. Were any of these folks borrowing patented ideas? Were all these guys being honest? Were there some law suits going on? Or did all these guns have subtle differences?

Richard;

The Hopkins and Allen XL derringer used the Marlin patented extractor/ejector and was marked with John Marlin's patent date like the Marlin derringers. Many gun makers like Colt and Smith & Wesson had their patents and were constantly sueing competitors to prevent them from using their ideas.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
