I have a 1894 32-20 marlin serial# 163725. It has a parkerize finish. Dad bought late 50’s early 60’s. With a Winchester 73. Serial number of my gun makes it pre 1900. Anybody got an idea of how it might have been parkerized
Thanks
Parkerize.

Re: Parkerize.
Definitely wasn't done at Marlin! And likely done by some gunsmith who had the equipment to parkerize military firearms, and someone wanted a cheap finish, instead of a correct finish. Shame to have that happen to a fine old Marlin.

Re: Parkerize.
Curious. Is my parkerized marlin still worth the$6 my dad payed for it?

Thanks. My dad does not have the first dollar he made but does have the gun he bought with it.
