1893 rifle in 32-40

Looking at a Marlin 1893 in 32-40 with a rough bore. Which would be more appropriate: relining to 32-40 or boring and rifling to 38-55 and restamping the caliber designation? Thanks in advance.

I would keep the same cal. it came with, and have it relined. Some you can't tell.
