39A Carrier Rocker and Spring

Post by disneyd »

I have a 39A serial number 24XXXXX (indicates a 1976 model) that I need to find a carrier rocker and carrier rocker spring for.

Any ideas where I can find one? E-Gun parts has the spring, but not the rocker.

FWIW, I also have an '83 model and a '74 model. The '74 has the same carrier rocker setup as the '76, but the '83 is completely different (anyone know what year they changed?). The newer rifle uses a spring loaded push-pin type design where the older rifles have a spring loaded lever type carrier rocker.

I can post pictures of the exact parts I need if that would help. I am currently complete missing the two parts for the '76 model as my father took them out before his death (he was looking for replacements at gun shows)... so I don't know if the original rocker failed from wear or defect. However, the '74 model is perfect and I have pics of the parts from that rifle.

Thanks for any help.

I believe you can find it on ebay, search for Marlin gun parts, they had a bunch of parts on the other day or try Bob's gun parts http://www.gun-parts.com/marlin/

I am also looking for a carrier rocker. My 39a is 1957 serial number. If any one has a lead on one it would be greatly appreciated. Gun smith has had it for a few months and hasn’t been able to find one.

Bhoward89;

I just checked Wisner's and they show carrier parts. Go to www.wisnersinc.com Follow the links to Marlin Rimfire and the parts you are looking for are about the first thing shown.
Good luck.......
