I just got in some 6.5 X 52R Sellers and Bellot ammo and figured I would take out my old 1893 Marlin 25 36 and see what it would do.
To my surprise it is deadly accurate. At fifty yards it will do a 3 shot group under an inch. This old fellow will definitely be in the woods this fall with me.
I have 25 36 UMC cartridge and the 6.5 X 52 case is .075 shorter than the Marlin but the overall loaded round is longer.
I had no split or bulge cases, and everything seemed to work fine.
Next is to get some 23 35 dies and work up some good loads. The 25 36 Marlin dies are a little too rich for me, so I will just go with the 25 35.
I think I’m in love, with my Marlin
Thanks
Jesse
