Marlin 1892 2nd variation 32c 1893 manf.

Post by Hivelocitie »

I am bringing a portion of my collection to market. I need a hand with Identification - This rifle , is an 1892 2nd variation in 32c with a 1893 manf. date. At least that is the best I can do. Please, of you will, correct me if I am wrong. https://onedrive.live.com/?v=photos&id= ... B2FAD3F871

Hivelocitie;

The Marlin Model 1892/'92 did not come out until 1895. So this is either a Model 1891 in .32 Colt caliber, or you have the date of shipment incorrect. If it has a trigger safety button that the lever has to depress, then it is a Model 1891. Early Model 1891's did not have a model marking on the upper tang like the Model 1892/'92 did have.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Hivelocitie;

You do have a Model 1891 in .32 Colt caliber and it has a 24 inch octagon barrel. It was shipped late 1894.
I do not have access to your photo image as I do not have an account on that particular site.

Thank You so much for the help - these are confusing and tough, as they are not my specialty area.
