1894 marlin
I was given a old marlin about 20 years ago and was in parts missing the barrel but everything else was there. So this past weekend my father and I sat down and he put the receiver back together. So now we are trying to find out everything we can so we can get a barrel, magazine tube, along with stock set. The serial number is 230242 any information would be helpful

Good thing you have all the parts except the barrel since this was a takedown action. Records show that this rifle was shipped in late 1901 with a 24 inch round barrel in .32-20 caliber.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Even the takedown actions screw into the receiver. There is a "yoke" on the end of the barrel that the forearm attaches to and the magazine tube goes into. There should be a small "tab" or yoke stop on the front, right side of the receiver. The barrel threads on a takedown barrel are longer than standard barrel threads so as to go through the "yoke" than into the receiver. There is also a "cam" that acts somewhat like a wedge to tighten the action when put together.

Where would be a good place to find parts like the barrel magazine and the takedown parts

First off, Thank you, Brian for the photos.
Since this Model 1894 you have was made in 1901, it was made to be able to use smokeless powders.
The parts you need are nearly unattainable. Check most of the gun related internet sites and eBay, you might get lucky, but I doubt it .

Re: 1894 marlin
Could it be turned into a standard rifle instead of a takedown
