Carbine 93

Post by whells france »

Hello Sir and all, I am coming to acquire a carbine model 93 caliber 30-30. With serial number C3267. with a crescent butt which I think doesn't have its own because it doesn't have the same wood color as the front. what year can she be? thank you in advance sincere greetings

Wells France;

Your Marlin Model '93 carbine will have been made sometime after 1921. It is pretty much assured that the serial number is under the lever and that there is a Marlin trademark "Bullseye" in the toe of the stock, unless it was replaced by an earlier stock. You can pull the butt stock and check the serial number of the stock to see if it matches the serial number of the receiver. The butt plate will be numbered too, so check that too.
Exactly hard to tell when this carbine was made as the company changed hands after 1924, and serializing of the guns kinda got mixed up to where we do not know exactly who did what with the serial numbers. You gun could be after 1924 as well. One thing is for sure, it was made before 1936.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
