Marlin Marauder is it real

Hi,
This is my very first post, so please bear with me. I have a Marlin 336rc in 30-30win, that came from a family member several years ago. From what l have been told about it is. That it was bought new, and stored in a case in a closet for at least 35 years. It looks to be in near mint condition, l don’t know if was ever even fired.
The rifle’s description is as follows: it has a 16 inch barrel marked 336rc, 30-30 win. It has the straight “Texan” stock. The lever is straight with a rounded end and a gold trigger. The front sight is a small dove tail. As far as l can figure out, it was made in 1964. The serial number under the lever handle is Z11039. Can anyone help in identifying this rifle.
