Marlin 30-30 Model 36g chart state yr. 1890 is that correct?

Post by ogadafas »

Greetings, I have a Marlin 30-30 Model 36g serial number 44902 Glenfield Products New Haven Conn. U.S.A. If I were to grade its condition like a old coin it would be in Very Fine condition no scratches rust ,tarnish or dents on metal nor on this heavy hardwood stock all original. Could you give me any information year made and approximate value. I have had this since I was a young boy and now going on 74. Thank you for any insight on my old PEA SHOOTER, Gary

No, the 36G Glenfield line of Marlins doesn't fall into the same serial number sequence, so you can't use Marlin's serial numbers to date your gun. Your 36G should date to 1964-65 era.

WHAT IS THE APPROXIMATE VALUE OF A MARLIN 30-30 LEVER ACTION MODEL 36G MADE 1964-1965 VERY FINE CONDITION. I SEE BY A ON LINE VALUE CHART THAT THE MODEL HAS INCREASED $281.00 OVER ONE YEAR DUE TO THE $400 PLUS INCREASE FOR A NEW ONE. MAYBE i AM READING THIS CHAST WRONG BUT IT STATES USED VALUE OVER $800.00 IS THAT CLOSE OR NOT. tHANKS FOR ANY INPUT.

There's no way to look at a chart or for anyone to give you a value based on sight unseen. It is irresponsible for me or anyone else to tell you your gun's value without seeing it. If you post good pictures, so we can see any issues or condition, then a "guesstimate" could be given based on that.
