WHAT IS THE EXACT NUMBER OF THE LYMAN REAR SIGHT ON THE MARLIN 455? I KNOW IT IS A #48, BUT DOES IT HAVE ANY SUFFIX NUMBER/LETTERS UNIQUE TO THE 455? I NEED THE TOP CROSS BAR ASSEMBLY FOR MINE.

I believe the 455 has a Mauser action. If so, you need a Lyman 48M. It is made to mount in front of the bolt handle on the right side of your receiver.

I just purchased a 455. It has scope mount bases, and what appears to be a base for a receiver mounted peep sight on the right side of the receiver, but no peep sight. I understand that it may be from a Lyman 48m. Are they still available? Also, there are two screw filled holes on the top of the barrel about 2/3 back from the ramp sight. Was there a leaf sight or something similar on the original? I am interested in purchasing other 455s (I guess I'm not alone) so contact me if you have one for sale. Thanks!

That may be difficult as there were only 1,079 made in 30-06 and 59 in 308, that may not be that easy.

Hi Guys.

I'm a new member who stumbled across your Association while doing some research for a gun I intend to sell. I have a Marlin 455-30-06 in absolutely mint condition. I understand this is a rather rare piece and want to sell it for a fair price.
I don't know if this is proper on this site, but I would be willing to offer my personal email address for further discussion if requested.

Well, first off an -06 and a 308 are not even close to being a big bore. 0 caliber and up to be a big bore.

Thanks for the info on the marlin 455 Lyman sight. I found one, mounted it, and it looks great. Now I am looking for the rear Sako peep sights for my Marlin 422 and 322, any help will be welcome.
