Value of 1955 model 336 in 35 Remington?

Post by Yellowhouse »

Found one thats perfect except for a dent near the barrel band. Is this a buy at $350?

I would think that it might be a decent price. As always a little less would be even better. If I were looking for one in 35 remington caliber it would not bother me to pay that much for an excellant condition one. A look at the auction sites would give you a better idea of price also.

Bought it after further examination and finding it was pre MicroGroove! :D

That would make it more desirable to a lot of people. Should be a carbine with the barrel band. Is it a straight grip or pistol grip model. I have a 336T straight grip in 35 rem. that is a pre micro-groove. Either way it sounds like you found a nice rifle.

Its a 336C with pistol grip. Recently, I found a model 1936 (first year) in 30/30 w/full case and 98% condition. Gander Mtn had it mismarked as an 1893 and wanted $1200. I argued that the price needed to be adjusted which only hdq can do. I waited for a call from the manager as to price and in the meantime someone grabbed it. Maybe too much but you don't see sporting carbines in that condition very often...in fact, it was the first one I'd ever seen with any case left.
