1893 Marlin

I have an 1893 Marlin in 38-55 but the bore sluggs about .378 any body got any ideas about reloading for it.

Your lucky.
.379 or .380 lead bullets should work well. Mines just shy on .381 & harder to find bullets for.

Buffalo Arms and Whyteleather Arms can fix you up with bullets. You'll want .379 to start with. I like the softer bullets so that they will bump up better if they are near or slightly larger than groove diam. Get you a set of RCBS Cowboy dies as it has two expanders, one for .376 and one for .379 or something like that. I'm probably ahead of myself as you didn't mention the type of shooting you'll be doing. AA5744 is a natural for BP velocities and slightly above. Read MLV's book on shooting Leveractions and Ken Waters article on the loading for the 38/55.
