Hi gang, My model 93 has four digit s/n (5786) which makes manuf. in late 1880s. I am sure this is not corect. The s/n is under the lever. So, the question is. When was it made?
Thanks
Marty

Since it is a 4 digit, and the number is under the lever, plus it's a '93, not an 1893; then it should be from the 1920's. Marlin started new serial number ranges after WWI, and the modl '93 falls into that era.
If you post all the rollstamp marking info, we might narrow it down more. Also whther it has a bullseye in the bottom of the buttstock or not.
The reference lists don't work for the 1920's and early1930's Marlins.
