I purchased the rifle and need a site hood and rear site elevator. Pls advise if you are in possession and wish to sell. Would also be interested in a parts gun if reasonable..

I have an idea the 57M w/o a serial number was made from 1959 to sometime in 1968. SW

Before the Gun Control Act of 1968, firearms manufacturers were not required to serialize guns. I speculate that many opted to leave s/n's off in an effort to keep the prices down, by eliminating a costly manufacturing step during the production of certain firearms.

Not easy to pin down the YOM on some of these non-numbered rifles. The value will depend on condition, and you can look around on the auction sites like auctionarms.com or gunbroker.com to see what they are actually selling for. SW

i also have one of these! actually, mine isn't the mag but merely a .22 short and lr. see: http://www.leverguns.com/articles/malloy.htm

interesting info re the Marlin 57.

i saw a .22 short/lr a few weeks ago for $225 at the san jose gun show....with scope as is mine. however, that one had a cheek swell and mine does not.
