Any Info On Model 3079 limited edition

Post by Merriloukenny17 »

I recently purchased A model 3079 limited edition 30-30. I would appreciate any info on this gun. Year of manufacture and value. This gun is in very good condition with almost no real signs of use. Thanks. :)

Merriloukenny;

Your Marlin Model 3079 was made for the Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company (OTASCO) in 1979. There should be a brass medallion in the stock representing the American Hunting Tradition with something that looks like a mountain man in the center. The serial number should have an "OB" prefix to the serial number.
These guns were made by Marlin using the Model 30 for OTASCO for several years. Marlin made two different models, the Model 30 and Model 60 for these commemorative rifles.
Value for these commemoratives will be about the same as any other Marlin Model 30 in similar condition and no more.
I hope this helps.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
