By serial number should be from 1902. From the patent dates sounds like an 1893, the calibur should be stamped on the top of the barrel just ahead of where it screws into the receiver. The model 1893 should be stamped into the tang, the metal piece that goes back into the butt stock, on the top of the rifle. Because it was produced in numerous caliburs and a variety of styles we need more info to give you more info. Best book available on Marlins is Marlin Firearms, A History of the Guns and the Company That Made Them, by Lt. Col. William S. Brophy. Lots of info and good photos. You may be able to get it through your local library, it is available from this Forum if you want to buy one, check with Reigner.
