Need help determining the age of a Marlin

Marlin 1892, .22 cal., octagon, straight grip, ser # 444196. If you can tell me the year this rifle was made it would be appreciated. thanks.

Geo57;

As the old Marlin factory records end at 355,500 in December of 1906, there is no way of know exactly when your rifle was shipped. That said, I have a presentation Model '97 with a serial number in the 442,000 range, that is known to have been made in the fall of 1913. Therefore, you can probably figure your Marlin Model '92 would have been made about the same time, only a little later, maybe early 1914. I hope this helps.

SW , i'm in the Hastings area. Regnier, i was born & raised in Deshler, NE. , 8 mi from the ks border & about 35 miles from Bellville, KS. on 81
