A local dealer has a Mountie for sale for $600. What has caught my eye is that it is chrome plated (with gold trigger and accents) - did these ever come this way from Marlin, or has it been pimped out? Thanks.

Miker557;
Marlin did make a chrome plated gun in 1960 to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Company's founding. Those guns had a letter "T" serial number prefix. The stock was also carved with a squirrel on the right side of the butt stock. If it does not have the features mentioned, then it has been "pimped" out as you say.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
