Marlin 22
We have a Marlin 22. Hexagon barrel. Model 39. Serial number #1903 I’m trying to figure out when the gun was made. I would appreciate any information

Re: Marlin 22
To begin with the barrels are eight sided, so octagon, not hexagon.
The Model '39 is tough to date exactly because there are no records. But it was first offered in 1922 and discontinued in 1936. I'd have to guess your serial number puts yours in the earlier years. Maybe mid 1920's.
