I have a what I believe is a 1897 lever action 22 with serial no s1525 any information would be greatly appreciated. Let me thank you in advance.

A Model 1897 will not have a letter "S" prefix to the serial number. A Model 39, which was the model that followed the Model 1897 did have letter prefixes. If your rifle is a Model 39 (marked on the upper tang, behind the hammer ) and has the letter "S" as a prefix, then it would have been manufactured between 1925 and 1932, probably closer to 1925 with the serial number quoted.

Fist of all thank you for quick response yes of course you are right it is a model 39 the rifle is in pristine condition with case hardening still very visible, and idea the worth of the rifle. Again let me thank you in advance.
