Model 39A Variation

Post by hynz@aol.com »

I have searched hi and low trying to find the variation of my model 39a. I'm getting a lot of mixed info. The gun has no lettering anywhere on the barrel. It is a round barrel. The SN is under the lever and is 19258 - no prefix. Standard butt plate with no white spacer. Butt stock is smooth with no flutes. It seems like a 1st model but the lever does not look like the model 39 predecessor. Any info is appreciated.

Hynz@aol.com;

Best post pictures of your rifle. Instructions to post photos are under "No Longer Guest Questions".
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

With no barrel markings at all it sounds like it's had a new barrel put on it.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
