I have a Marlin model 92 (stamped on the receiver tang) with Octagonal barrel and full length mag tube.
The serial number is A5271….
I would like to find out what year the gun was made and how it ended up in Australia?
Many thanks
Steve

Marlin92.au;
The "A" prefix on your Marlin Model '92 indicates that it was made in 1916 by either the Marlin Arms Corporation or Marlin-Rockwell Corporation. Sporting arms were assembled from parts on hand during the war to keep employees busy between war contracts.
How it got to Australia is another story, but we know it did not swim! A number of Marlins found their way "Down Under" over the years.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
