Model 90 dates

Post by jim90 »

Hi, I am new to your site and have been enjoying it very much. I have a question about my Model 90 I own in 410 . In doing research I read that post about 1950 the barrels were open between them and about the same time they changed to a latch forearm rather than a spring. Mine has an " L " serial number so I am dating it at 1954 but it has closed barrels and a spring snap forearm. All numbers do match. I was wondering if this was common , maybe left over parts or what? Thanks for your time in advance. Jim

According to the Marlin date code chart, the letter L can be on 1935 models also.
