Hello, I have an older model Marlin Safety, right side ejector, the only number under the tang is 4069
Is there any way to positively identify the year of this gun? I think it's an model 1893??
Would appreciate any help.

No way to narrow it down to a specific year as no records. But because the serial number is under the lever it does give a time frame. I'd need to know what the name rollstamp is on the barrel exactly. But likely it's going to date to just before WWI. Does it have a tang sight that's covering the Model designation on the top tang? If so remove it to see what it says there also.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
