336 r.c. date of production
I'm new to this forum.Hopefully someone can help with identifying the date of production. I bought my first Marlin 336 R.C.waffle top. To see the serial number, I had to remove the butt stock. The serial number is 15xx. I'll try to add some pictures. Thanks in advance
Re: 336 r.c. date of production
Hi Freeze,
the full serial number (including a capital letter prefix E,F,G,H,or J?) should be visible under the lever on the lower tang... the waffletop indicates an early model 336 production rifle from 1948-1952, and if the buttstock has a pistol grip cap it would place in the 1950-1952 range. The full serial number can place your regular carbine *RC designation into a given production year. best regards, chrifle

Asailvr:
The serial number prefix AD is correct for 1968.
