Nancie;
Be careful. Some of these auction companies will give you a high estimate to get you to consign, but not deliver in the end. Or, they will get one of their "friends" to bid, and will hammer sold quickly when their "friend" has the bid. It has happened more than once and then they sell the item at a much higher price away from the auction.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Nancie;
The last High End Marlin sold in the North East for about $50k, so you will want a reserve somewhat close to that. A good auction company that can be trusted.

I have had a chance to look at your pictures of your rifle. It is an amazing rife as most have said. As Gunrunner has said do your homework on which auction company to work with. A few years ago I had a very rare high condition gun that I had decided to send to auction. I showed the gun to to a couple of auction house and they all wanted it. I finally settle with one that offer to do full page spread and would take the gun with no seller commission. We agreed to a reserved price . I did very well and they honored the agreement. Your rifle will command the high price so do not be afraid to put a high reserve on it. I do not want to promote the auction house on this forum but can send you the name on private message.
Good luck.
Good luck.

No offense, but as wonderful as this gorgeous rifle is, I suspect it might not reach a six figure reserve.
