I have bought a used Marlin Original Golden 39M cal. 22 S.L & L.R
Where can I get some information about this rifle (year etc..) ?

You have come to the right place. You will need to post the letter or letters prefix to serial number, or if there are no letter(s) then the first two digits of the serial number to determine the year of manufacture. Most any question you have can be answered here, just give someone a chance to help you.

Your Marlin Model 39 M (Mountie) was manufactured in 1980. According to a chart I have on production figures of the Models 39 A, 39 M, 39 C and 39 D ( well, all the 39 series from 1952) there were only 6 39 M's made in 1980. For some reason, production on the Model 39's was quite low for several years (1977 to 1983).

I have a marlin golden 39m serial # 222595** I was wanting to know what year it was and what would be the selling price , I was thinking about selling it is in real good shape and not been shot much. I have had it about 10 yrs

Yours was made in 1978.

They can fetch a decent price. I dont like to guess but if it was in great shape I think you could get close to $400 if you found someone wanting one.

Its really hard without seeing a gun & really depends how much its worth to the buyer.

i have a golden 39m that my uncle gave me. i thought he bought it in the 80s. the model number is 20299967. it says on the barrell The Marlin Arms Co. North Haven Conn. Can someone tell me the year from that model number? Im not sure it has ever been shot. It is in excellent condition. any idea the value of it?

Guess what......your Marlin Model 39 Mountie was made in 1980 also. The first two digits of the serial number are the give-a-way. Subtract the first two digits from 100 (i.e. 100 - 20 = 80 or 1980) to determine the age of your gun. This only applies to guns made after 1973. Prior to that, different systems was used. Check the very first post in the "General Gun Questions and Answers" on how to determine the age or manufacturing date of your guns.

I have an Original Golden 39M that I bought new years ago. I thought I'd read up about it and just read this entire thread.

WOW. Mine is serialed 203038xx! Have we found FOUR of the only six 39Ms that you say were made in 1980??

That is pretty unusual! To have the serial numbers (almost all of the numbers anyway) for 4 of the 6 Mounties made in 1980 is really neat. Maybe the other two will show up someday.
