I inherited a marlin pat date may 12, 1896 June 2 1896, mar 29, 1904 aug 7, 1906 may 19 1908 Nov 23 1909 Dec 21 1909. Serial number on the reciever is 2743. It has an internal hammer. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Those patent dates were utilized on several different Marlin hammerless models. What gauge is your shotgun? Is is a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge?
The model marking should be stamped somewhere on the receiver. Usually, on the bottom, near the loading port.
With the model number, we can give your more information regarding production dates, etc.
