Model 1881 with history

Post by Road King »

I added this Marlin Lever rifle to Brian's Home for Wayward Marlins back in 2019. This one is a very nice condition Model 1881 with pistol grip checked stocks with double set triggers. The 28" octagon .40 caliber barrel has an almost mint bore. This rifle #16521 was shipped out July 13th, 1887. This rifle has been in the same family since it was purchased new in Missouri in the late 1880s. The rifle was used in Missouri until the family moved to Oregon and then to California. After being used there, it was packed up again and moved with the family to Colorado. Earlier in 2018 the family sold it to a family friend who took it to Arizona where I was able to procure it. I have to thank the Henzie family for looking after this rifle for the past 135 years.
