I have a model 57-m magnun and a model 57 magnum. I lso have a model 57 lr.
My question is why is there a 57(no m) model and a 57-m.
What are the differences?
Thanks for any input.

Re: Marlin Moldel 57-M and 57 mag
This was just a progression of the Model 57 when the 57 Magnum was first introduced. It's likely your 57 in .22 Magnum has the rounded rear edge to it's receiver and is a first year 1959 production. Later the rear edge got squared off and the guns were listed as a 57M. So a little change to the design, and the model designation.

I think originally they were all a Model 57. Designation got more specific later.
