Old Marlin Lever action .22

Post by erd10012 »

Can someone help me identify this Marlin 22 lever action? I cant seem to find anything that shows this squared off lever guard.

I cant seem to figure out how to insert a picture here, but the rifle showing on this website is the exact model. Can't find a serial number, but the trigger/lever mechanism has stamped 229622. Please help. Eric

Erd10012;

By serial number, your rifle is a Model '97, that was shipped from the factory in New Haven, Ct. in late 1901. The gun will be marked with a model designation on the upper tang, behind the hammer.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
