Hello: hoping someone can shed a little info on a piece I recently picked up, its a Marlin 57m 22mag, 100th anniversary model, the serial number on it starts with 70-------, has a 22" barrel and has the 100th anniversary badge on the stock, can anyone confirm the year, correct barrel length and is there such a thing as a 100th anniversary model, cause I thought they were only made till 1969 and had 24" barrels, barrel is stamped 22mag
thanks
Marlin 57M

Interesting gun. The fact that your gun has a serial number beginning with "70" would tend to indicate that your Model 57M was made in 1970 and therefore would have the 100th Anniversary medallion. The Levermatics are not listed in the 1970 catalog, but not to waste any good Marlin rifle parts, your gun was assembled after they were no longer listed in the catalogs.
The 1969 Marlin catalog lists the Model 57M with a 22 inch barrel.
