The easiest way to determine twist is to use a cleaning rod with a
tight patch or brush and run it into the barrel pull a couple of inches
to clear the chamber and mark the cleaning rod on top of the rod at the
muzzle with a colored paint pen. Pull the cleaning rod back until it
makes a full revolution and the paint mark is back on top again. Then
measure the distance from the muzzle of the barrel to the paint mark
and this will give you the rate of twist.
Hope that helps.

That method isn't very precise with micro-groove rifling, as it doesn't seem to "grab" the rod or patch well. Sometimes they wont turn well to give the twist rate. It does work super with conventional rifling though!
