Special Steel
Is it possible a Model93 could have come from the factory in 1900-1901 with a "Special Steel" marked barrell?

Kentucky Windage;
If tihs is a 1900 to 1901 gun, it will not be marked Model '93. It will be marked Model 1893.
Yes, it most certainly could have a Special Smokeless Steel barrel. I believer in another post, Marlinman93 mentioned he checked his old Marlin catalogs and found the smokeless steel avalialbe in 1896.
If you have other questions, please feel free to post them here and someone will be glad to help.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
