Should a Model 39 S85xx with star be repaired before offering for sale

Should a Model 39 S85xx with star be repaired before offering for sale? A spring steel part that should be keeping the live rounds in the magazine until the lever action is cycled is so worn that it does not allow a round to feed via the magazine. Single shot loading of standard velocity ammo directly into the chamber allows the rifle to shoot just fine, but no rounds can be loaded from the magazine using the lever action. If I were a buyer planning to shoot this rifle, that would be an issue for me but I’m a shooter not a collector. If buyers were not planning to shoot the rifle, this problem would be irrelevant. Would a person who would is willing to purchase this rifle for approximately $3000 - $4000 want it functioning correctly or would they want it AS IS unrepaired? If you have any advice about the best place online to sell this rifle, that would be helpful too. I assume its year of manufacture is somewhere in the middle of 1926-1932.
