Hello to all.
I've been researching for the above-captioned rifle to pair with my Redhawk of the same caliber.
I'm fairly sure I want a pre-Remlin due to everything I've read saying those will be generally the highest quality?
If I'm wrong about that, someone please correct me.
Also, I assume the "JM" roll mark is indicative of being a pre-Remlin too?
Continuing with that assumption being true, unless the "JM" roll mark is specifically mentioned in the description, the serial number would be the definitive indicator of the year of manufacture?
Can anyone advise the S/N range indicative of the Marlin years before Remington and what year(s) Remington took over manufacturing the Marlin brand?
If y'all have any other advice on this particular rifle, I'd love to hear it!
Thanks!
Frank
