Model 1895 Carbine: Condition Info

Post by Carbine Collector »

Hi everybody,

As rare as the Model 1895 SRC is, there may not be a good answer to this question. But of those people have seen, what kind of condition are they in? Pristine? Hard field use? A mix of both?

Thanks in advance,

I've personally examined a half dozen, and those ran from average condition, to fairly nice. So far haven't seen any abused ones. Normally in the 1893 and 1894 Marlin carbines I see plenty of well worn, brown, and somewhat beat up guns. Of course I see some average, and nice ones too.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
