I am looking for information on a rifle That I recently aquired.
It is a Marlin 22s, 22l, 22LR, lever action, octagon barrel, w, rear peep sight.
serial # is A7028
I am looking for the but plate and mid bore site, if there is one, for it.
Also any historical information would be appreciated.

Thank you

JG;

You really need to remove the tang mounted rear sight to find the model number that will be stamped on the upper tang. From your description, it should be a Marlin Model '97 made in about 1916. But, without that model number, we really cannot be sure at this time.
If it is a Model '97, a reproduction butt plate can be found either at eBay or at www.gungrip.com A proper rear sight can be found on eBay from time to time. But, do not buy just any rear sight listed for a Marlin as it may not be the proper sight. Do a little research and find photos of your model of gun and look closely at the rear sight.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
