Congrats on your purchase of the A-DL. It is my understanding that between 1961 and 1963 there were a total of 3,306 Model 69A-DL' were manufactured. All had the same grey squirrel carved in the buttstock. Price in 1961 was $100. Want to sell it? PM me if interested.

Expect to see prices ranging from $500 to up and beyond $1500.00. The last one I saw, one of my friends bought and I offered to double the price he paid for it, but he didnt' want to make an extra $400. Someday I might get lucky and own one.
Re: 1963 Marlin 39 ADL
Little help please!! I am looking into buying a Marlin 39 adl. I found one for sale and trying to determine if its real. Is there any markings on the barrel ? what should the barrel say ?
Re: 1963 Marlin 39 ADL
I don't think there were any special markings on the barrel. The only difference that I know of is the carved squirrel.
Rick Regnier can tell you much more than I can on the 39ADL. Give him a shout.
I'll see if there is any other information about them and let you know more.
Good Luck!

the stock and forearm are also hand checkered; all were shipped with leather sling - barrel is 24" and I believe only marked 39-A

Sorry, but I'm afraid nobody is going to be able to give you an accurate estimate of your 39a's value without good pictures. It's just impossible to do so as a "nice 39 adl" is too vague a description, and each person's idea of "nice" is different.
